Welcome to Gram’s Cabin Alaskan Vacation Cabins

At Gram’s Cabin you can have it all — a peaceful, quiet, truly Alaskan setting with all the niceties of modern living and none of the big city commotion. The two cabins are situated on a 3-acre, partially-wooded site bordering the Chena River which winds its way all through the Fairbanks area.  Perfect for honeymoons, a few days’ R & R, or longer stays.

Beautiful birch and towering spruce trees surround open, grassy areas with lawn furniture, picnic tables and a screened gazebo overlooking the river.

We are located halfway between Fairbanks and North Pole. An easy 9 to 15-mile drive will take you anywhere in Fairbanks, including the International Airport or University of Alaska. In 10 minutes you can be chatting with Santa at the world-famous Santa Claus House in North Pole. See our activities page for even more things to do during your stay!

Guests can enjoy fishing for Arctic Grayling (catch and release) and King Salmon in season (first half of July usually). When domestic raspberries, native low bush cranberries and rosehips ripen, you are welcome to pick and eat them. Learn more about our cabins and on-site activities on our accommodations page.

About Your Hosts

Gerry came to Alaska via the Air Force just after statehood in 1959.  He is now retired from Civil Service at Ft. Wainwright Army Post. Nora, also retired, was a teacher. Between the two of us we have lived in Alaska for over 80 years. We’ve worked and traveled extensively all over this magnificent and enormous state. We are happy to share our Alaskan experiences and enthusiasm with you.
